Reshmi & Prateek — founders of BeBhikkhu
We're Reshmi and Prateek, two sustainability enthusiasts living in Berlin. Like many here, we loved carrying tote bags — better for the planet, better for the soul. But whenever we hopped on our bikes or had to carry something heavy, the single-shoulder tote became a real struggle. We noticed other people dealing with the same thing too.
The idea clicked. One fine Sunday, sitting in a café right in front of the Boxhagener Platz farmers' market, we sketched out a bag that could do both — a clean tote and a proper backpack. We kept refining it: a built-in bottle holder, a small pocket for coins and everyday essentials. Practical, but still beautiful.
The name Bhikkhu means "monk" in Pali. Our hand-illustrated baby monks each carry a distinct emotion — because we believe your bag is a tiny daily declaration. What do you want to carry today?
